These Terms of Use govern your use of the website at hancockveterans.com and the Hancock County Veterans Service Office mobile/web application (together, the “Services”), each operated by the Hancock County Veterans Service Office (“we,” “us,” or “our”). By accessing or using the Services, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Services.
2. Purpose and Informational Use
The Services are provided for general informational purposes only. They are intended to help veterans, their families, and the public learn about available benefits, programs, services, and events. Nothing in the Services constitutes legal, medical, financial, or official benefits advice, and it is not a substitute for official determinations made by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), the State of Ohio, or any other government agency.
3. App License and Use
If you download or use our app, we grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use it on devices you own or control, solely for the purposes described in these Terms. You may not copy, modify, reverse-engineer, distribute, or create derivative works from the app except as permitted by law.
4. App Stores and Updates
The app may be made available through third-party app stores (such as the Apple App Store or Google Play). Your download and use of the app may also be subject to the terms and policies of those stores. We may release updates, and certain features may require you to install the latest version. The app may not be available or fully functional on every device or operating system.
5. Device Permissions and Data

You agree not to use the Services in any way that is unlawful, harmful, or disruptive, including attempting to gain unauthorized access to the Services or their systems, interfering with their operation, or introducing malicious code.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Hancock County Veterans Service Office and its staff are not liable for any damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, the Services or any content or linked resource. The Services are provided “as is” and “as available.”
11. Crisis Resources
The Services are not a crisis or emergency service. If you or someone you know is in crisis, call or text the Veterans Crisis Line at 988, then press 1, or call 911.
12. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms at any time. Changes take effect when posted or when an updated app version is released. Your continued use of the Services means you accept the revised terms.
